Yukiko is a very adventurous little penguin who isn’t afraid of a challenge. She made the difficult journey from Crystal Slopes to the Emerald Forest through the Snowy Mountains all by herself with only a map, a lantern and some food. She was not afraid of the rumours of what the Emerald Forest was like, she simply wanted to visit a place she had found on a very old map - Elmthrop (which is now Kiki Lane).

Despite coming from the Crystal slopes, Yukiko does not particularly like the snow and cold. She specifically left her family home in the Crystal Slopes as it was too cold all year round. Despite this, she has come to enjoy tobogganing down the snowy mountains and is quite the pro. After leaving Crystal slopes, she set out with the intention of swimming in the sea one day as most of the lakes at home were usually frozen over and she enjoys being active.

Yukiko is a very friendly penguin and is very happy to chat with people she passes and meets. You can often find her in the library reading a romance novel or fairytale. She enjoys talking about the books she has read, especially when other people have read it and they can discuss what happens. 

She is also very content in loud and busy places and is found most evenings dining at the inn, Even after finding her own home, she still visits each night for food as she loves the company and dislikes having to cook for herself.
