Meet Hattie, Kiki Lane’s furry innkeeper. Hattie was friends with Piccolo before she moved to live in Kiki Lane after helping Ruby start renovations at the inn. She is a very outgoing and friendly dog which allows her to easily make new friends and is the perfect creature to welcome new guests. On top of her good people skills, Hattie is good at bookkeeping which is vital in making sure the inn runs well without adding to Kiki’s workload as the town leader.
During the day you can often find Hattie working hard at the reception counter in the inn, welcoming guests or getting some admin done. During the evening and at breakfast, however, you can find her waiting tables or working at the bar in the dining area. With a vibrant personality, Hattie thrives even when it’s busy and she enjoys a full house in the evenings when many visitors and villagers gather for a meal, drink and sometimes even live music! As the liveliest worker in the inn, Hattie much prefers being out working in the crowds and doesn’t like it if she has to stay out the back and help in the kitchen. Luckily for her, Ruby is very capable and often doesn’t need much help and when she does, Piccolo is more than happy to be in the kitchen with her instead of Hattie.
Hattie really enjoys her job and getting to know everyone; villager or tourist she is always ready to make friends. She will often go above and beyond for every visitor to ensure they enjoy their stay which makes her loved by all for the care she puts in. You can always find Hattie busy doing something as she finds it difficult to sit around and wait for creatures to come in. When it is extra quiet you can be sure she will have her nose stuck in a magazine, keeping up to date with the trends in the city.
Hattie has a deep interest in interior design and decorating. When renovating the Inn, Ruby allowed her to choose the decorations and design for a lot of the inn. This was a dream come true for Hattie as she had a lot of opportunities to decorate in ways she had never had the chance to before. When the renovations were happening there was not a lot of funds as the village had been empty for so long. As the business has started earn to enough money, Hattie will buy small decorative pieces every now and then to elevate different rooms when she knows they have the money to spare.
